Ingredients

Ground Beef Mixture
  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 blend for optimal flavor
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Cheese Topping
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese softened
Bread

Optional Toppings
  • 1 medium tomato sliced
  • 1/4 cup pickles sliced
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded

Method

Prepare the Beef Mixture
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, onion, and garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent, about 8 minutes.
  2. Drain excess fat and stir in salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Remove from heat.
Assemble the Melts
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the cheddar, mozzarella, and cream cheese until well combined.
  3. Spread the beef mixture evenly over the slices of bread, then top with the cheese mixture.
Bake the Melts
  1. Place the assembled melts on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Serve
  1. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Top with optional toppings if desired, then slice and serve warm.
