Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Cream together the softened unsalted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Mix in one large room temperature egg and one teaspoon of vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Sift together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and fold until just combined.
  5. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed, then chill the dough for 1-2 hours.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius) and prepare a baking sheet.
  7. Shape the dough into balls and place them on the baking sheet, leaving space between each. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
