The Best Meatloaf Ever

A comforting meatloaf recipe that combines lean ground beef with savory seasonings and is topped with a delicious homemade sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 eggs eggs
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 pounds lean hamburger
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and spray a loaf pan with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all the meatloaf ingredients.
  3. Mix everything together until fully combined, but do not overmix.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf and transfer it to the greased loaf pan.
  5. Prepare the sauce by combining ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Pour half of the sauce over the shaped meatloaf and bake for about 30 minutes.
  7. After 30 minutes, pour the remaining sauce over the meatloaf and return it to the oven for an additional 45 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
