Ingredients
  

Salmon
  • 4 fillets salmon fillets skin on or off, as preferred
Orange Sauce
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice about 2-3 oranges
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch for thickening
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil for cooking
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger freshly grated
Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons green onions sliced, for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds toasted, for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Orange Sauce
  1. In a small saucepan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch. Whisk until smooth.
  2. Heat over medium heat until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Cook the Salmon
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Place salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  4. Carefully flip the salmon and cook for another 3-4 minutes until cooked through.
Combine and Serve
  1. Pour the orange sauce over the salmon in the skillet and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
  3. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
