Method
Cook the Sausage
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for another 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
Add Rice and Broth
- Stir in the rinsed rice, chicken broth, BBQ sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover the skillet.
Simmer
- Let it simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and has absorbed the liquid.
- Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes before serving.
