  • 1 lb chicken sausage sliced
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups broccoli florets fresh or frozen
  • 4 cups chicken broth low sodium
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Method
 

Cook Chicken Sausage
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
Add Orzo and Broth
  1. Stir in the orzo, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
Cook Orzo
  1. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for about 10 minutes or until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
Add Broccoli
  1. Stir in the broccoli florets, cover, and cook for an additional 5 minutes until the broccoli is tender.
Serve
  1. Remove from heat, fluff with a fork, and serve warm.
