Ingredients

  • 2 apples, peeled and finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 8 pieces caramel candy
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • cinnamon sugar (optional)

Method

  1. Start by peeling and finely chopping your two apples. In a medium-sized skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter. Add the chopped apples along with 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Sauté for about 5 minutes until the apples soften and begin to caramelize slightly.
  2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Open your can of refrigerated biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. Flatten each biscuit slightly. Place about a tablespoon of the sautéed apple mixture in the center of each biscuit round. Top with half a piece of caramel candy. Fold up the edges of the biscuit around the filling, pinching them together to seal.
  4. Place the bombs seam-side down on a greased baking sheet. Brush the tops with melted butter.
  5. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until they’re puffed up and golden brown.
  6. Allow the bombs to cool for about 5-10 minutes before serving. Drizzle some extra melted caramel sauce over the top if desired.
  7. Gather friends or family around and enjoy these mouthwatering treats warm from the oven!
