Method
Prepare the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add olive oil, salt, and chopped rosemary to the yeast mixture.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
First Rise
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape and Second Rise
- Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf.
- Place the loaf in a greased loaf pan, cover, and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake the Bread
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the bread for 25 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
