Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder ensure it's fresh
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk can substitute with buttermilk
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
Flavorings
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or your choice
  • 1/4 cup fresh herbs chopped, such as parsley, chives, or thyme

Method
 

Prepare the Oven and Pan
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and salt.
Mix Wet Ingredients
  1. In another bowl, combine the milk, beaten egg, and melted butter. Mix well.
Combine Mixtures
  1. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  2. Fold in the shredded cheese and chopped herbs until evenly distributed.
Bake the Bread
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
  1. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  2. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
