Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup uncooked long grain white rice
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1/2 medium onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 to taste pepper
  • 2 cans tomato sauce 14 ounces each
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar packed

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and move the oven rack to the middle position.
  2. In a large prep bowl, combine the ground beef, rice, egg, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined and form about 20 meatballs, placing them in a baking dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix the tomato sauce, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and brown sugar until well combined.
  4. Pour the sauce evenly over the meatballs in the baking dish.
  5. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for about one hour.
  6. After an hour, check if the rice is cooked through. If not, return to the oven for a few more minutes.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite sides.
