Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients
  • 4 large croissants preferably day-old
  • 2 cups heavy cream can substitute with half-and-half
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Topping
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for dusting
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips optional

Method
 

Prepare the Croissants
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the croissants into bite-sized pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
  2. If using chocolate chips, sprinkle them over the croissant pieces.
Make the Custard
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, eggs, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
Combine and Bake
  1. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissant pieces, pressing down gently to ensure they are soaked.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.
Serve
  1. Let the bread pudding cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar. Serve warm.
