Method
Prepare the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
Make the Cheese Filling
- In a bowl, mix together mozzarella, cream cheese, Parmesan, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning until well combined.
Shape the Breadsticks
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into strips about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long. Place a tablespoon of cheese filling in the center of each strip and fold the dough over, sealing the edges.
- Shape the filled strips into bone shapes by pinching the ends and making them thicker.
Bake the Breadsticks
- Place the shaped breadsticks on the prepared baking sheet. Brush with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with dried parsley before serving.
