Ingredients
  

Meat and Vegetables
  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 for best flavor
  • 1 small head of green cabbage chopped
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
Sauce
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 14.5 oz
  • 1 cup beef broth low sodium
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper to taste
Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup sour cream for serving

Method
 

Cook the Beef
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Add Cabbage and Sauce
  1. Stir in the chopped cabbage, diced tomatoes, beef broth, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
Serve
  1. Remove from heat and sprinkle shredded cheese on top. Cover for a few minutes until cheese is melted.
  2. Serve hot with a dollop of sour cream on top.
