Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 2 cups fresh blueberries washed and drained
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar adjust based on sweetness
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch for thickening
Topping
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats not instant
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon ground
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the blueberries, granulated sugar, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Toss gently to coat the blueberries evenly.
Make the Topping
  1. In another bowl, mix together the oats, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  2. Pour the melted butter over the oat mixture and stir until combined and crumbly.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Spread the blueberry mixture evenly in a baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle the oat topping over the blueberries.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the blueberries are bubbling.
Serve
  1. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  2. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
