Ingredients
  

Buttercream Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 2 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Apple Flavoring
  • 1/2 cup apple butter store-bought or homemade
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon optional

Method
 

Prepare the Buttercream
  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer until creamy.
  2. Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until combined.
  3. Add the milk and vanilla extract, then beat on high speed until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Incorporate Apple Flavor
  1. Add the apple butter and cinnamon (if using) to the buttercream mixture.
  2. Mix on medium speed until fully incorporated and smooth.
Final Touch
  1. Taste the icing and adjust sweetness or flavor as desired.
  2. Use immediately to frost cakes or cupcakes, or store in the refrigerator until needed.
