  • 16 oz strawberries (fresh or frozen, hulled & sliced)
  • 2 1/2 cups salted pretzels (measured before crushing)
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 oz Cool Whip (thawed in refrigerator)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust by crushing pretzels into small pieces. Mix with melted butter and 3 tablespoons of sugar, then press firmly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, dissolve the strawberry Jell-O in boiling water, stir until dissolved, and mix in sliced strawberries. Allow it to cool slightly before pouring over the crust.
  3. Beat softened cream cheese with 1/2 cup sugar until smooth. Fold in thawed Cool Whip until well combined.
  4. Once the Jell-O layer has set (approximately 1-2 hours), spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over it and refrigerate again until fully set (about another hour).
  5. Cut into squares and serve chilled.
