Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients: flour, ginger, nutmeg, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, milk, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Combine wet and dry mixtures gently; avoid overmixing.
  6. Turn dough onto a floured surface and pat into a circle about one inch thick. Cut into wedges and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for about 17 minutes until golden brown.
  8. While cooling, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar with heavy cream and pumpkin puree until smooth; drizzle over scones.
