  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking soda, baking powder, cornstarch, and salt.
  3. In a stand mixer, cream the cold butter until creamy; add brown sugar and white sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in one egg and one egg yolk until combined.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients into the wet mixture on low speed until fully incorporated.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Portion out approximately six giant cookies (about 5.7 ounces each) without flattening them.
  8. Bake on a lined cookie sheet for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for at least 15 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
