  • 1 1/4 cups (300ml) warm water (105-115°F)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for greasing
  • 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (115g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh Italian parsley
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk or water
  • Everything bagel seasoning
  • Additional grated Parmesan cheese
  • Dried Italian herbs

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together flour and salt.
  3. Combine wet and dry: Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mix; stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Knead: Turn dough onto a floured surface; knead for 6–8 minutes until smooth.
  5. First rise: Place dough in an oiled bowl; cover and let rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
  6. Prepare filling: Mix cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, herbs, garlic, and seasonings in a bowl.
  7. Roll out dough: Punch down dough and roll into a rectangle; spread filling evenly.
  8. Shape bread: Roll tightly into a log, cut lengthwise, twist strands together, and transfer to a baking sheet.
  9. Egg wash & bake: Brush with egg wash, sprinkle toppings if desired, then bake at 375°F for 25–30 minutes until golden.
