  • 4 cups (500g) bread flour or all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (7g) active dry yeast or instant yeast
  • 2 teaspoons (10g) salt
  • 1 3/4 cups (415ml) warm water
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) extra virgin olive oil, plus extra for drizzling
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary leaves
  • Coarse sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and yeast; let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour and salt; gradually add to the yeast mixture while stirring until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1-1.5 hours).
  5. Turn out dough onto an oiled baking sheet; stretch into shape and create dimples on the surface.
  6. Cover again and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Drizzle olive oil over dough and sprinkle with coarse sea salt and rosemary; bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
