  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 tbsp instant dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for filling)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • powdered sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk until lukewarm. In a large bowl, mix warm milk, softened butter, eggs, sugar, and salt. Add bread flour and yeast to form a dough.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon to create the filling.
  5. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. Spread the filling evenly over it and roll tightly.
  6. Cut the roll down the middle lengthwise; twist each half over each other to form a braid.
  7. Place braided buns on lined trays, cover again, and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Brush with beaten egg before baking for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow cooling slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
